DONNA HARRELSON

* Author * Motivational Speaker * Playwright* Poet*

Donna Harrelson inspires and challenges people around the world to take a stand against domestic violence, incest, gangs, human trafficking. Donna has risen to a national level by delivering high energy, heart felt and enlightening messages through her drama ministry. Her plays have “Plateau” internationally and in various states in the US.

Her plays encourage all people to gain their own vision to believe in themselves and know that there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel.  There is a “Watchman” who will help them throughout their unfortunate time.   Donna believes that via her work people can pray to renew their minds, and turn their pain inside out, and that “God” can transform their souls and excel to a higher level.

Donna’s first book entitled "Transforming Souls" was birthed from the untimely loss of three of her siblings.  The theme of the book is the journey of “Transformation” from life to death and life again.  Donna started writing plays in 2010 and currently has 40 plays she intends to convert to the big screen, DVD, and paperback.  Currently on DVD is the poetic version of Dancing on Daddy’s Shoes, and When King’s Die, which will be sold   after the performance at the Carolina Theater November 14-15 2015, and When King’s Die play and movie, scheduled for 2016.

Donna has been awarded for her participation to end the silence of domestic violence, which also happens to be the theme of one of her plays, Wait Until Tomorrow.  She was awarded The Ambassador of Peace award in April 2012, and recognized by celebrity Author and Motivational Speaker Debra Winans, Luke Omingade of South Africa in 2011, has support from Pastor Michael Thomas of Love and Faith Christian Fellowship and Chair of the Board of Transforming Souls drama ministry, Michael Booker.

Donna’s vision for her plays is to raise awareness for the need of a domestic violence center that will shelter victims and their children (of incest, human trafficking, and other sexual related types of abuse), along with gang violence, teen pregnancy and suicide.  The center will provide educational programs on altered behaviors, drugs, anger and sexually transmitted disease. The counselors, doctors, and advocates will help survivors… realize that the “Power” lies within and to become Victors instead of Victims!
